Child Care Program

Ages 5-11

Side Quest is a child care program that provides an environment that supports children off the main path. When children are not at home and/or school, Side Quest provides a journey for them to explore and experiment with new ideas, master unique abilities, and discover lasting friendships that support their well being and success.

Qualified nurturing educators guide children in their learning with a comprehensive selection of materials, equipment, and activities while also providing opportunities for leadership roles. We are an inclusive program that coordinates with community agencies and families to enhance each child’s learning and growth.

Youth Program

Ages 12-13*

We believe children 12-13 should be able to access activities that promote social, physical, cognitive, and emotional development at a reasonable cost. We at Side Quest will support these areas as well as technology, engineering, mathematics, arts, and reading in a fun and engaging environment.

We have qualified recreational and nurturing educators to create a fun, engaging, and positive experience while challenging and supporting your child’s leadership skills, perseverance, and emotional intelligence.

Activities included but not limited to: survival skills, home alone responsibility, cooking/baking, sewing, planting/gardening, sports
enhancement, martial arts, reading, public speaking, wood working, mechanics, engineering, information technology, online safety/social media, and linguistics.

Staff have extensive backgrounds such as personal training, kinesiology, martial arts, collegial athlete, Child and Youth Care, Early Childhood and Education, architecture, IT, Bachelor of Education, Child Psychology, Human Services, Indigenous Education, and bilingualism.

*Children must be 12 by their start date and under 14 by their end date.

Our Philosophy

We adopt the FLIGHT curriculum into our program that believes in the image of the child and how best to support their social, physical, cognitive, creative, and emotional needs.

Notice (observations), Name (interest, behaviour, experiences), and Nurture (offer opportunities for child’s learning and development) will be implemented to ensure children’s interests and needs are addressed and supported.
